Pistol Fundamentals: Level 3

Class Description: PREREQUISITE – Level 1 & Level 2 Pistol Fundamentals Course.

This course is designed to not only build upon the skills learned from the previous Pistol Levels 1 & 2, but to make the student think while under stressful situations that involve “shoot or don’t shoot” situations. The scenarios that will be discussed are based on active shooters, home invasions as well as carjacking’s or other violent crimes while responding alone. Time requirements will also be incorporated in this course to help students practice shooting drills under pressure. Elements from previous courses such as movement, malfunctions, and reloading will be utilized throughout the shooting drills.

Focus: Shot placement, shooting under pressure, & shooting around/through barricades.

Topics include:

• Review of Firearm Safety
• Handgun Fundamentals
• Drawing from the Holster
• Barriers, Cover, & Concealment
• Moving and shooting
• Shoot or No-Shoot Scenario
• Live Fire on the Range
  

Class Requirements:

• Must complete Pistol Fundamentals Level I & II first.
• Class is intended for advanced/intermediate shooters looking to hone their skills with a pistol.
• 250 rounds minimum of quality pistol rounds of ball ammunition. No steel core, steel cased or tracer rounds.
• 50-round boxes of Ammunition available for purchase in-store.

Individual equipment:

• Pistol with at least 3 pistol magazines.
  • If you use a Revolver, you must have at least 3 speed loaders.
• Eye & Ear Protection. (Rentals available upon request.)
• Closed toed shoes.
• Pen & Paper for notetaking.
• Proper Belt and Strongside Holster / Concealed Holster set up.

Certifications Earned: Does NOT qualify for a Florida Concealed Weapons License
